WHEN IS IT TIME TO CHANGE YOUR ROOF SHINGLES?
When shingles start degrading from sun and rain exposure, they become cracked or start curling and loosing granules exposing the matting underneath.
When exposed to high wind areas blowoff may occur. Missing shingles expose key lines (gabs between the shingles underneath) causing water to get behind the shingles and into your home.
And when the tar lines start giving out, a well nailed roof may hold on for a long time, but a poorly nailed roof will loose shingles mostly every day that has wind. Once blowoff begins it usually will continue until the side or roof is replaced.

We 6 nail to get extremely high wind warranties/resistance. Our team hits the nail strip line with every hammer blow. The nail strip line is the double layer right above the exposed face that gives the shingle its strength – even when they bind, or the tar strip begins to fail.
Lack of proper nailing is why many 7-10 year-old roofs have shingles blown off – long before the end of the lifespan of a roof.
We use Canadian-made BP Shingles, which are made for Canadian weather and use a double tar strip method. When nailed properly they have an unbeatable 220 km/hr wind warranty. We are a Preferred BP Contractor.
